HALLMARK FAIRS in ESSEX
HALLMARK ANTIQUES, VINTAGE, RETRO &
COLLECTORS FAIRS
As the longest established fairs circuit in Essex and one of the longest established in the country Hallmark Fairs continues to offer some of the best and most consistent events around.
Hallmark was first established by Pearl and Dennis Baker over 35 years ago and merged with Ridgeway Fairs about 15 years ago when the Bakers retired. The Hallmark name was the one which continued and still thrives today.
With iconic venues such as the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend and Cressing Temple Barns still the most popular the circuit has changed over the years as the popularity of some venues has waned and new ones have taken their place.
Over the last few years the need for diversification to accomodate changing tastes has brought about the broadening title we give to our events, incorporating the more modern taste for vintage and retro. I believe we were among the first to recognise this and then others followed after seeing it in the "Tittle Tattle" column in "The Trader" newspaper.
As traders ourselves we recognise the importance of keeping costs down so stand prices have only increased when absolutely necessary, giving everyone a fair chance. We also prefer to have a full venue at a sensible price than one which is half empty because customers are less likely to return if they have been disappointed with what’s been on offer.
Our website gives you lots of information about our fairs but if you'd like to know more then don't just stay online, come and see us or give us a call and have a chat.
Just to keep you up to date……a brief run-down of what’s coming up in the next few months.
About us
Hallmark Director Trevor Cornforth has been in the trade for almost 50 years, having started as a mere pup at junior school.
At 18, and with little interest in university, he joined a firm of Auctioneers and Estate Agents in York and began a lifelong career in the antiques business. Although this took diverse turns into surveying and the jewellery bussiness as well there was always the dealing in the background to e lesser or greater extent until eventually he moved to Leigh on sea and began the present "empire"!
